WOW! I have people ask me all the time about multi-tasking.  How can you get it done and do it well?  How do you know if your overloading yourself?  Does is make you better or worse in productivity?

Well,  I will share my experience of how it can be done.  I believe multi-tasking is good and very productive.  For example, I am blogging while working on a power point presentation and grilling chicken. LOL

I keep track of appointments,  cut off times,  deadlines,  etc to ensure I won’t overload.  When I have gotten in over my head, my body will tell me…LISTEN to YOUR BODY! Create a schedule and work it.. I heard Success Coach, Monique Reed say, “If You want to learn how successful people do it, you have to do what successful people DID or DO.”   Well said>>>>DITTO!

Often times we want to take the low road.  If you have your week or day planned out you will know what needs to be done.  I think multi-tasking can be productive.   I urge others to start living an Appointment Living life. I  also encourage  a strong support system.  If your home life is together chances are the rest of it will be just fine!

On Location Memphis International Film & Music Festival

WOW!  is not enough…..being a Memphis native is so awesome! On Location Memphis has been around for a over 10 years and to just see them pull off the festival each year is amazing. I recently had the opportunity to be the Volunteer Coordinator for this year’s festival (2011).  I was introduced to OLM by a business colleague and attorney friend.

This particular blog will show what happens when you operate in your gifts and talents…my role was to recruit, train and oversee all volunteers. Ok…now that in itself is a TASK!!!!!

It worked out really well. We are down to the last week and it’s film time. Actor, Tom Berenger will be in Memphis for the entire festival; how awesome is that?

I have an announcement to share,  I will be on the panel teaching about proper Public Relations & Marketing techniques for film makers and artists. What an honor to be sharing industry knowledge with folks all over the world attending the festival.

So Ashamed!!!!!

I am so ashamed, I have been so distracted with my Public Relations Firm that I have NOT been blogging like I should…lol. I know all the people are saying, “NO not the marketing expert” and yes, that is the case.  I vow to do better. I have some great announcements coming up and will be sharing them right here!!!!

I have not missed a beat with FB & Twitter though! I look forward to your comments. I have spent over 5 hours redoing both my blog sites today. I want better and in order to get that you have to work at it. Enjoy all the wonderful news and updates about Sharen Rooks. I have so many talents, most people would pay thousands for!

Lifestyle change

I would like to set the record straight about the action going on in my life. I recently hired a private chef here in Memphis. Chef Lane is wonderful. First, she sent me a culinary profile that was 6 pages…WOW my entire family had to participate in this process. It was so heavenly. Secondly, we met and went through our responses, and headed to the market to select and approve menu for the week. Chef arrives at my home with ALL of her equipment, starts preparing our meals for the week. Then she seals them for each day according to menu and provides a detail list of heating instructions for folks like ME. Chef called the same evening to follow up with everyone in the house about the dish. Ched does the shopping, cooking, storing and cleaning…… OMG is this the best thing ever. My husband and I did the numbers and the cost of fuel for our YUKON coming and going along with the actual expense what crazy blowing money daily. I am hooked on this new lifestyle now I can make desserts and my family and I can spend more time playing the WII when I’m in town or just sitting around watching movies. “KNOWING”

My fanily and I had the pleasure of previewing the newly released movie, KNOWING with Nichols Cage about a week ago. I’m not the one to watch horror movies, but I love suspense and a great message. I could not believe my eyes. I give the movie 10 stars, it was great! i was shocked with the thought of all things happen for a reason and someone other than my circle understands that. I would like to know what others thought about the “BLACK  STONES’ what did they represent. If anybody thinks they have that answer please tell me.

Oh, just a FYI for those folks who attend the movie theaters PLEASE STOP BRINGING YOUR BABIES and TALKING DURING THE ENTIRE MOVIE!  IT SUCKS and is very disrespectful.

Today is 3/2/09 and boy was it a busy weekend. First, the booksigning on Saturday at The Mona Lisa and it was GREAT! The snow, yea I said snow from out of no where comes to see Memphis. It came so fast and think I might add. The signing had to be cut by 30 minutes to make sure all parties arrived home safely.

My day began with a upcoming nationally known makeup artist, Sada Calvin proud owner of Exquisite Cosmetics which is manufactured in New York, but headquarters are in Memphis. Well, this young lady was truly awesome, because I don’t wear makeup and when I was done….. I even liked myself (smile). Oh, I forgot to mention she has done work with Fred Hammond and others in the gospel arena. When I left Sada I went to visit another wonderful person name Ray White Photography located in Memphis. We did about 240 shots and boy was I tired but the end results made it all worth it. I have uploaded many new pics on various sites for all to see. In the meantime to his website @ www.raywhitephotography.com. I thought my pictures were great! I’d love to get your feedback as well. Check them both out!

Are you in the RIGHT PLACE?

Wow,  I had a conversation today with a young lady in “WallyWorld” I’m sorry Walmart.  We we discussing the many achievments I have been afforded throughout my young life. Well, she asked me the question, Are you at peace with the changes your life has taken?  I responded emphatically, “YES” and she replied, How do you know when you are in the RIGHT PLACE?I began to tell her about understanding what purpose and passion means. I explained to the mother of two girls married working in healthcare; about having a sense of peace about when you move in the directions that are right. I went  on to tell her how I can do what I do so naturally and I would and have actually done it (Speaking, singing,coaching,etc) for free.  My walk in life is to always be the LIGHT to point others to reach the goal. I know I have been given a great task in this world. I give the energy to empower, motivate, critique, push, and discipline those who are a little shaky. I know I’m in the RIGHT PLACE. I get encouraged as I hear others take action to do what I teach in life or business. The testimonies, the emails, the phone calls, and personal, Thank You’s make it all worth while. So as I close this blog I challenge you to ask yourself…… ARE YOU IN THE RIGHT PLACE?
